The Punta Mulas Lighthouse, built between 1895 and 1896 during the final years of Spanish colonial rule, stands on a scenic promontory near the Isabel Segunda ferry terminal. One of Puerto Rico's last surviving Spanish-era lighthouses, it was restored by the Municipality of Vieques and now serves as a maritime museum. Exhibits document the island's seafaring history, the role of the lighthouse in regional navigation, and its architectural heritage. The surrounding grounds offer sweeping views of the Vieques Sound and the Puerto Rican mainland. Admission is free. Hours vary — visit during the day and check with the municipal tourism office for current schedules.
